Tell us a little about your day-to-day at Fluid Truck.
My position is FMS Supervisor for the Roadside Team. My day starts by preparing coffee. Then I start checking what happened after I left my shift the day before, reading the overnight report, setting up tabs that I work with, and after that, I start to prepare for what is coming!
I do a lot of roadside requests and prepare docs and reviews. Some days I’ll spend the day on the phone talking to vendors and going through invoices or requesting tows or servicing vehicles.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
The surprises! I like tough problems. The requests that nobody else wants to do - like a vehicle crashed in the middle of nowhere. There's a saying in Argentina, “in the field, you see the horses.” You need to prove yourself in those difficult situations to see if you are able to do it. I don't like to ask my team to do something that I'm not able to do. I like difficult challenges.
When you aren’t working, what are you usually doing?
I walk a lot with my dog, who’s one year old – almost two years old. Having a puppy requires a lot of energy. I like to play board games with friends, go to cafes, and I love coffee. For me, that's the best activity. I love football. Every time my team plays I go to the stadium. I play video games, read a lot, and buy a lot of books.
Tell us about your dog!
Lilo! When I adopted her, I felt bad. I was like, 'what did I do?!' I was moving alone after a relationship ended so I thought I needed some company. My previous dog had just passed away. So one day I was searching on Instagram, scrolling, and I found a puppy refuge, and I couldn't resist it any more. So I adopted her. She's my life! Everything is for her. Every time I go to do an activity I have to think about her. My world turns around her.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I have a personal motto: "it's never enough." It doesn't matter what you have now, you have to keep pushing forward to get the next thing. It's never enough. If you want to go to the moon you have to shoot for the stars. Always overreach. In Argentina, you say "if you take a lot, you can squeeze much." I like to go beyond what I'm supposed to do. Because if you need it later, you already have it. And if not, so what.
What motivates you at work?
My team! I like to work for them and do a good job for them. I like to make their lives at work easier. I like to help people. I like to prove myself through challenges. And my dog of course -– I have to pay for her living. That motivates me.
If you had a TED Talk, what would it be about?
I think it would be about football, for sure. Why the 2019 River Plate season was the best season ever.
What’s your favorite snack?
Medialunas! A croissant from Argentina. I could eat 1000 of them. Especially if they're fresh.
What would you tell someone who wants to come work at Fluid Truck?
If you like surprises and you like to be challenged, you should work at Fluid Truck. You have to be ready to innovate and change yourself all the time. Stuff changes a lot, so you have to be on top of it all the time. You have to be ready for change. Stay Fluid!
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Dulce de leche! I always have a jar in the fridge and sometimes I go at night and take a spoon. I could eat the whole jar in one sitting!
