"Never let the fact that you're a woman scare you away from doing kick*ss sh*t and taking leadership positions. Especially in male-dominated industries!"
Those are the words of our very own Jenifer “Jen” Snyder. She’s a leader not just here at Fluid Truck, but one in the transportation and tech industries. But don’t take our word for it. Just check out the just-released Women in Trucking ‘2022 Top Women to Watch in Transportation’ list.
Who is Fluid Truck’s Jen Snyder?
Jen is our Co-Founder and general counsel at Fluid Truck. She keeps busy overseeing our accelerated growth. And when we say busy, we mean it. Fluid Truck has grown 24x over the last 18 months.
Jen was the key negotiator for one of the largest Series A fundraising rounds in Colorado history. She also helped launch the largest mid-sized electric truck fleet in the country through Fluid Truck’s partnership with IKEA. Jen, we are so grateful for your leadership and all you do for the team!
“At Fluid, I feel like I’m a Chief Challenge Officer more than a general counsel, because as a disruptive and new technology, I get to address novel challenges on a very frequent basis,” she said.
“I get to do everything from customer service, to really creative contracts, to beta testing of new products, to vehicle testing. I love that every day is different, and I never quite know what the challenge is going to be.”
One of Jen’s strengths is her ability to find creative solutions to keep Fluid Trick moving forward, even in an industry that sometimes “lives in the gray” and has very little clarity.
Jen Honored in Top Women in Trucking 2022 List
The Women in Trucking Association is a non-profit organization that carries the mission of encouraging the employment of women in the trucking industry. Its goals are to promote their accomplishments and help minimize the obstacles being faced by women in the industry.
Each year, the official magazine of the Women in Trucking Association, Redefining Road, recognizes the top performers in the industry. They’re looking for women just like Jen, who go the extra mile to support other women. For Jen, it’s a proud moment to be on this list.
“This award is super special because there are a lot of incredible women in the trucking world that are paving the way for others, and I just feel so lucky to be in their company,” Jen said.
Who else is on the list? Jen is in great company! From Melissa Reeves, with FedEx Freight, to Melissa Davis, with Old Dominion Freight Line, to Samka Keranovic, with the U.S. Truck Driver Training School, and so many other strong and inspiring women. You can check out the full list of winners here.
Jen’s Advice: Find Allies
Jen loves to show everyone that women have a seat at the table. When you sift through her list of accomplishments over the past year, it’s easy to see why people are paying attention to her. We see it firsthand. Behind the accomplishments is a passionate woman who is determined to help other women make a mark in an industry where they are very underrepresented.
She does more than talk the talk, Jen walks the walk. She has pushed through recruitment goals focused on seeking out and hiring more women on our team.
We asked Jen, what is your advice for other women?
“Before getting into the trucking world, I was involved first in the tech world, which is another industry that has a tendency to be male-dominated,” she explained. “I think the best advice is to be authentic and make sure you find allies and other strong women that are paving the way.”
We couldn’t agree more! Congratulations to Jen and the other inspiring women on this year’s Women in Trucking ‘2022 Top Women to Watch in Transportation’ list!
